Engraving Cutters

Edge-Rite engraving cutters are used for cutting and engraving with rotary machines. Available in Carbide, High-Speed Steel or Diamond, our engraving tools are long-lasting and can be re-sharpened to extend their life. Available in 1/4", 1/8", 11/64”, 5/16”, and 6mm shank sizes.

Types of cutters available

Standard

Half round cutters that are normally made to a 30° cutting angle that can be used to engrave on metal or plastic. Although 30° is the standard cutting angle we offer cutters that can be made at 48°, 45°, 70°, and many more. Tip sizes for standard cutters can go from .005 to full width of the cutter shank.

Parallel

Most popular for engraving all the way through the material, our parallel cutters create a perpendicular cut in the material and can be made starting at tip size .015 and go to full width of the cutter shank. The length of parallels are made to 1-1/2 times the tip size but can be made longer or shorter upon request. Tell us the type and thickness of material you plan on engraving and we will happily recommend the best size parallel cutter.

Quarter-Round

Different from half round cutters in its ability to give greater clearance to chips and scraps coming off the engraved material. If you are looking to engrave on stainless steel and other hard metals this is the cutter for you. Tip sizes for standard cutters can go from .005 to full width of the cutter shank.

Burnisher

Our burnishing cutters are used for applications like enamel brass, aluminum, and polished brass. Unlike standard engraving cutters, a burnisher is for surface marking/scratching and so should be used at a maximum depth of .002

Bevel

Cutters that are used to create a desired bevel look to a piece of chosen material’s edges. Common bevel angles include 30°, 45°, and a full shank width.

Cutter-Beveller

For a 2-in-1 package we offer cutter-bevellers, also called combo cutters, which are a parallel cutter with bevel cutting edge added in after the length of parallel. A combo cutter allows you to cut out and bevel a 45° on the material at the same time, or leave a .001”-.002” onion skin thin layer that can be peeled away. Available for use in material that is 1/16” thick and 1/8” thick.

Diamond

We offer both non-rotating diamonds for scratch engraving and rotating diamonds for glass engraving and burnishing. The scratch engraving diamonds come in 1/8”, 11/64”, and 1/4” shanks while our rotating come in 11/64” shank size with tip sizes .010, .015, .020, and .030

Endmills

Engraving tools that are used for deep routing in metal, our most “heavy duty”, they last longer with increased strength. Endmills are available in 11/64” and 1/4” shank sizes.
